Tattoos and Fine Art collide like never before at MF Gallery!

Book exclusive tattoo appointments with the artists every weekend until April 6th, 2019

On Saturday March 2nd, MF Gallery will be presenting the fine art of four NYC tattoo artists, as well as offering an exclusive opportunity to be tattooed right in the gallery space! Visitors can become a part of the art show, by booking a tattoo appointment every weekend until April 6, 2019.

Artists MissElvia, Chantal Smith, Dennis Carley and Martina Secondo Russo have created brand new sheets of tattoo flash, which will only be available during this show. These tattoos are being offered for the special price of $80-200 and will be done exclusively at MF Gallery! The exhibition of the flash sheets alongside the artist's “personal” fine art, emphasizes the similarities and differences between each style.

Elvia Iannacone Gezlev, “MissElvia” is a veteran NYC tattooist working out of Staten Island. She is also an accomplished photographer, focusing her lens mainly on tattooed bodies, and tattoo artists / personalities.

Chantal Smith is a young tattoo artist from Brooklyn, NY. Her incredibly detailed miniature paintings are created on heavy watercolor paper, which she then burns and distresses, for a truly unique finish.

Dennis Carley has been making art his whole life, but has been putting art on people's skin since 2005. His art is rooted in classic tattoo imagery.

Martina Secondo Russo is the newest tattooer in the group. She has been painting tattoo portraits for many years, and tattoos have always been a big part of her art's subject matter.

All four artists will be at the opening party, doing “live” tattooing for the gallery crowd. Patrons will be able to purchase original artwork and prints, as well as book appointments for exclusive tattoos throughout the duration of the art show. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free and open to all ages. Tattoos 18+ with I.D..

MF Gallery is located at 213 Bond Street, between Baltic and Butler Streets in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn. Take the F or G to Bergen St., the A or C to Hoyt/ Schermerhorn, or the R to Union.
