MF Gallery Genova is proud to present a Solo Show of Macchiavello's newest drawings... Boogers, Boils, Bile and more bodily fluids colorfully coexist with sex, drugs and other vices. His humorous stumpy characters are held together by stitches, meathooks and bandaids. This collection of super colorful art will surely delight and gross out viewers of all ages!

Macchiavello is one of Italy's top contemporary illustators, having realized projects for such big name clients as Ceres Beer and "U Giancu's Famous Comic Book Restaurant", along with many others. He is the character designer for "Skifidol", Italy's wildly popular trading cards. (Produced by Officina Comunicazione, società modenese, owner of the "Skifidol" trademark) He defines himself as a combination between Hyeronimus Bosch and Jacovitti, Caravaggio and Papa Smurf, mixed in a nauseating ecstasy.

Enrico Macchiavello was born in Genova, gew up playing with colors and later studied at the Scuola del Fumetto in Chiavari, and the Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti in Genova. He was one of the founding members of La Fantomatica, a graphic design firm which has worked on many projects from web design to animation, advertisements, to band art and more.

In 2000, he was the winner of the prestigious "Premio Andersen" for the best multimedia children's product and in 2006, he received the "U Giancu" prize in the "Mostra Internazionale dei Cartoonis". He has shown his work at Violabox Gallery and at numerous other venues in Italy and has worked with MF Gallery both in Genova and in New York.

Macchiavello reached international fame when he worked with Ceres beer on a series of TV spots in 1999. His monstrously funny and unique characters made his style easily recognizable by a wide variety of people, and his signature cartoonishly hideous drawings oozed, dripped and disgusted his way into many people's hearts.

In 2008, he illustrated the "Skifidol" trading cards for Officina Comunicazione, a Company from Modena, owner of the concept and registered trademark: "Skifidol".
